We’re Hiring: Service Coordinator

Help people experiencing domestic abuse access the legal advice and support they need.

FLAG DV is looking for a compassionate, organised and motivated individual to join our team as a Service Coordinator.

This is a frontline role where you’ll work directly with people experiencing domestic abuse, often at difficult and uncertain points in their lives. You’ll be one of their first points of contact, helping them feel heard, supported and informed as they access our free Legal Advice Service.

About the Role

You’ll manage client referrals, speak directly with victim-survivors to understand their circumstances and legal needs, and coordinate appointments with our volunteer solicitors.

You’ll also work closely with referring professionals and partner organisations, ensuring clients receive appropriate information, support and signposting.

This role involves sensitive and sometimes emotionally challenging conversations, alongside managing a busy caseload and maintaining accurate records.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Compassionate, empathetic and confident communicating with people in distress.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• A good communicator with sound judgement and strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.
• Willing to learn and committed to making a difference.

You don’t need previous experience in domestic abuse or legal services. We’ll provide the specialist training you need. What matters most is your ability to communicate sensitively, exercise good judgement and support people professionally.

What We Offer

• Salary: £20,000 per annum (pro rata).
• Hours: 28 hours per week, across four days (including Friday).
• Location: Newbury, Berkshire.
• 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time).
