We are proud to share FLAG DV’s Impact Report 2025.
This year’s report reflects a year of continued demand for specialist legal advice and family court support for survivors of domestic abuse, alongside important learning about the realities many survivors face when navigating the family court system.
Throughout 2025, FLAG DV supported survivors facing complex legal situations involving child arrangements, protective orders, divorce, separation and post-separation abuse. Many individuals came to us feeling overwhelmed, isolated and unsure where to turn while trying to engage with a system that can often feel intimidating and inaccessible.
One of the clearest themes from this year has been that survivors are often not simply seeking legal advice. They are trying to understand, manage and cope with an emotionally and practically complex court process, frequently without representation or specialist support.
Over the past year, FLAG DV:
- Received over 1,000 referrals across our services
- Delivered more than 570 legal advice appointments
- Provided specialist court support to survivors navigating Family Court proceedings
- Supported survivors across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire
- Continued developing trauma-informed approaches to supporting survivors through Family Court
The report also reflects the growing importance of coordinated, specialist support that helps survivors feel more informed, prepared and able to engage with proceedings with greater confidence and safety.
Alongside reflecting on the past year, the report also looks ahead to the future development of our work, including the continued growth of Breaking the Fear, our Family Court Survivor Programme.
We would like to thank our staff, volunteer solicitors, trustees, funders, partners and community supporters whose continued commitment makes this work possible.
